Beliefnet is independent and not affiliated with any organization or movement. Buddhism – A site on basic Buddhist teachings dedicated to the development of compassion, universal responsibility, and enlightenment.
The Light of Truth Universal Shrine (LOTUS) –A unique temple dedicated to interfaith understanding and the Light within all faiths.
Internet Sacred Texts Archive – Complete sacred texts from religions all over the world.
Judaism 101 – An excellent online encyclopedia of Judaism.
MYSTICAL VIEWS The Abwoon Study Circle – focuses on the Native Middle Eastern Mysticism of Neil Douglas-Klotz and Kamae A. Miller, including the Aramaic Jesus, ancient Middle Eastern spirituality and Sufism.

Saints
– The

Pope John Paul II, and many others. A good site for basic information. Mysticism – The Ascension Mission website is sponsored by the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch. Click on “Mysticism” for general information, where you will see other links on modern Christian mysticism.
Mysticism in Islam – The complete text of The Mystics of Islam by Reynold A. Nicholson (Routledge, Kegan Paul, London, 1914). Traces the influences of Gnosticism, Christianity, and Neoplatonism in Islam.
Christian Mystics – A well-rounded resource on the Christian mystics of history.
Mystics of Vedanta – The site provides bios on the founding mystics/prophets of the main religions, but mainly focuses on the saints and mystics of Vedanta.
Edgar Cayce – The website of the American Christian clairvoyant, many of whose astounding readings reveal insights into the life of Jesus, preparations for his coming, and the early Church. Cayce revealed the universality of religious thought and a practical, mystical approach to Christ.

Early Christian Writings – Peter Kirby’s site holds all of the Christian writings, in English, believed to have been written between the first and early third centuries. A great source on the writings of Origen.
The Nag Hammadi Library – Resources for studying the ancient Gnostic scriptures -- texts once thought to have been entirely destroyed during the early Christian struggle to define "orthodoxy," including the Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Philip, and the Gospel of Truth.

The John Templeton Foundation – Pursuing research at the boundary between science and religion, the Foundation seeks to unite credible science with the exploration of humanity's basic spiritual and religious quests. Joan Borysenko, Ph.D. – Website of the author, who is also a cancer cell biologist, licensed psychologist, and a yoga and meditation instructor.
Larry Dossey, M.D. – The author and physician is an advocate of the role of mind in health. He was one of the first to research the power of spirituality in healing.
Institute of Noetic Sciences - conducts and sponsors leading-edge research into the potentials and powers of consciousness—including perceptions, beliefs, attention, intention, and intuition.
Peter Russell – Website of the revolutionary futurist and his lifelong investigation into the nature of consciousness.
